Free Writing Activity

We won our baseball game last night 3-2 versus lakeville south in 9 innings. I started pitching and went 6 and 1/3 innings. I gave up 2 earned runs both in the second inning and 4 hits along with 2 walks. i had 8 strikeouts and was relieved by Tom Jerle. After i was taken out Tommy pitched real well. The didn't have another hit after the second inning. we stranded a few runners throughout the game and had a couple baserunning errors. Finally in the bottom of the ninth we broke through. our leadoff hitter flew out to shallow center . Next up was our catcher who after taking 2 pitches was hit in the leg. High school rules allow for courtesy runners for catchers so we put someone in to run for him. After that our second baseman hit a gap shot double to put runners on second and third. After a walk and a failed sac attempt we scored the winning run on a single to left.
